Christmas Bread
Christmas Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. milk, scalded, 1 to 2 cakes yeast, 1/4 c. warm water and 1 tbsp. sugar, 1 c. sugar and 7 to 8 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Cool scalded milk to lukewarm.
Dissolve yeast in warm water and 1 tablespoons sugar.
To the milk add 1 cup sugar, yeast mixture and half the flour.
Beat well.
Add butter, fruit, cardamom, almonds, salt, eggs and remaining flour to make stiff dough.
Knead.
Cover and let rise to double.
Punch down and form two loaves.
Let rise.
When double, bake at 350Β° for about 1 hour.
