Chocolate Surprise Cake
Chocolate Surprise Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 10-inch angel food cake, 32 large marshmallows, 1/3 c. water, 1/4 tsp. salt and 6 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Slice 1-inch off top of cake; set aside.
Cut down into cake, removing interior, leaving a wall 1-inch thick on all sides. Place cake on plate.
In medium saucepan, combine marshmallows, water and salt.
Cook, stirring constantly on low heat until marshmallows melt; add chocolate pieces and vanilla.
Stir until melted.
Cool to room temperature.
Whip 1 cup whipping cream until soft peaks form.
Fold in chocolate mixture.
Spoon mixture into hollowed portion of cake.
Replace top of cake.
Frost with additional whipped cream or sprinkle with powdered sugar.
