Chocolate Pie
Chocolate Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 5 tbsp. cornstarch, 1 1/2 c. plus 6 tbsp. sugar, 1/8 tsp. salt, 2 c. boiling water and 3 egg yolks, beaten, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Sift cornstarch, 1 1/2 cups sugar and salt in top of double boiler; stir in boiling water and mix well.
Place over lower part of double boiler and stir until custard leaves side of pan.
Add egg yolks and cook 5 minutes.
Turn off heat and stir in butter. After butter has melted, add chocolate and vanilla.
Pour into baked pie shell.
Cover with meringue of egg whites, beaten with remaining sugar.
Bake at 250° to 300° until golden brown.
Cool and serve.
