Chocolate Mounds Cake
Chocolate Mounds Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sifted cake flour, 1 1/2 c. sugar, 2/3 c. unsweetened cocoa, 2 tsp. baking powder and 1 c. corn oil, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa and baking powder into a large bowl.
Add oil, egg yolks, water and flavoring; beat until smooth.
Add cream of tartar to egg whites; beat until peaks form. Fold into main batter.
Pour into three 8-inch well-greased and floured layer pans.
Bake in preheated 350Β° oven for about 30 minutes, or until layers test done.
Remove from pan; cool on rack.
Spread Honey Coconut Filling between layers and top cake with Chocolate Frosting.
