Chicken Strata
Chicken Strata is an impressive dinner you can prepare in about 1 hour 2 minutes. Made with day old bread, buttered on one side, c. cooked and cubed chicken or turkey, c. chopped onion, c. chopped pepper and cream of chicken or mushroom soup, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Cut bread (6 slices) in cubes and place half in bottom of pan. Mix vegetables, chicken and mayonnaise; pour over bread cubes. Place rest of bread cubes on top.
Mix eggs and milk and pour over.
Refrigerate for 1 hour or overnight, then spread the soup and other 2 slices of bread over the rest.
Cover and bake for 50 minutes at 325Β°.
Remove from oven; spread cheese over and bake for 8 to 10 more minutes, uncovered, until cheese has melted. Serves 6 to 8.
