Preheat oven to 350°.

Pound and cut chicken into serving pieces.

Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Lightly beat egg and milk.

Combine Parmesan cheese and bread crumbs.

Grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.

Pour sauce to cover baking dish; set aside. Dip chicken in egg mixture, then in bread crumbs.

Melt Crisco in a skillet; brown chicken on both sides.

Place chicken in baking dish.

Place sliced cheese on top of chicken or sprinkle shredded cheese on top.

Pour remaining sauce on top of chicken.

Cover baking dish with foil.

Bake for 15 to 20 minutes at 350°.
