Chicken Paprikas
Chicken Paprikas is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 tbsp. vegetable oil, 1 medium onion, chopped, 3/4 c. cold water, 3 1/2 lb. chicken, cut into serving pieces and 1 green pepper, cored, seeded and chopped, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Heat oil in a skillet.
Add onion and saute over moderate heat for 2 minutes.
Add 1/4 cup of the water.
Cover the skillet; reduce heat to low and steam the onion for 1 hour.
Add chicken, pepper, tomato and paprika.
Season with salt and pepper and stir in remaining 1/4 cup water.
Cover and cook for 35 minutes or until chicken is tender.
Serve with sour cream separately.
Serve with egg, barley or boiled rice.
