Chicken Dressing
Chicken Dressing is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 hen (5 or 6 lb.), 1 1/2 c. corn meal, scalded and baked, 1 1/2 c. sour milk corn bread, 1 box croutettes and 1 or 2 cans chicken noodle soup, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Cook hen tender with plenty of broth.
Slip meat off bones. Put Croutettes in large bowl.
Add all other ingredients and soften with broth.
Stir together until there are no lumps.
Add 8 eggs and mix well.
Put in pan and add chicken.
Pour broth over until well soaked.
Bake at 400Β° until done, but not dry.
Serve with giblet gravy.
