Combine in a 2-quart greased shallow baking dish, chicken, celery, rice, mayonnaise, water, lemon juice, onion, salt, sliced water chestnuts, undiluted cream of chicken soup, sliced eggs and pepper.
Bake for 30 minutes in a 350° or 400° oven.
Pour melted butter, sliced almonds and potato chips over.
Sprinkle cheese over top 10 to 15 minutes before done.
