Chewy Oatmeal Cookies
Chewy Oatmeal Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. shortening, 1 1/4 c. firmly packed light brown sugar, 1 egg, 1/3 c. milk and 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Heat oven to 375Β°.
Lightly grease baking sheet with shortening.
Combine shortening, egg, milk, vanilla and brown sugar in a large bowl.
Beat at medium speed until well blended.
Combine oats, flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon into the creamy mixture at a low speed, just until blended.
Stir in raisins and nuts. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls of dough 2 inches apart into a baking sheet.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly brown.
