Cherry Crumb Cake
Cherry Crumb Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sifted flour, 1 c. sugar, 2 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/2 c. butter or margarine, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Measure and sift together the first 4 ingredients.
Add butter or margarine; cut into flour with a pastry blender or 2 knives until crumbs form.
Reserve 1/2 cup of this mixture for the topping.
Combine egg yolks and milk.
Add this to remaining crumb mixture and beat until smooth.
Fold in 2 egg whites (beat until stiff).
Spread evenly in a greased 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan or larger. Spread a can of prepared cherry pie filling (1 pound 4 ounces) over batter.
Sprinkle with reserved crumbs.
Bake at 350Β° for 45 to 50 minutes.
