Cheese Straws
Cheese Straws is an easy dinner. Made with 1/2 lb. sharp cheese, 1/2 lb. margarine, 2 c. self-rising flour, unsifted when measured, 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Cream grated cheese and margarine.
Sift flour and salt and pepper together.
Add the dry mixture to cheese and margarine. (Use hands or mixer to work until well mixed.) Use pastry tube with "star" plate to make straws.
Bake 12 minutes in a preheated 375Β° oven.
(Yields approximately 100 three-inch straws; this allows for some broken straws.)
