Cheddar Scallion Soda Bread
Cheddar Scallion Soda Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 scallions, 1 2/3 c. flour, 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. baking soda and 1/4 tsp. pepper, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Preheat oven to 375Β°.
Lightly grease a baking sheet. Coarsely chop scallions.
In a food processor, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and pepper.
Add butter and process for 5 to 10 seconds or until mixture is crumbly and resembles coarse cornmeal.
Add scallions and cheddar and pulse briefly just to combine.
Add buttermilk and pulse just until dough forms a cohesive mass.
Turn dough onto floured surface and knead for 30 seconds.
Form dough into round dome loaf about 5 inches in diameter.
Place loaf in baking sheet.
Bake for 45 to 50 minutes until top is brown.
