Cheddar Chowder
Cheddar Chowder is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. boiling water, 2 c. potatoes, diced, 1/2 c. carrots, sliced, 1/4 c. onions, chopped and 1 1/2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
In large saucepan, add water to potatoes, onions, salt, pepper and carrots.
Cover and simmer for 10 minutes; do not drain.
In separate pan, melt butter, then gradually stir in flour until smooth.
Add milk slowly, stirring constantly and maintaining medium heat.
Add cheese; stir until melted.
Stir cheese sauce and ham into undrained vegetable mixture.
Heat for 20 minutes; do not boil.
This is good served with corn muffins.
Yields 4 to 6 servings.
