Challah Bread
Challah Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 pkg. active dry yeast, 2 1/2 c. warm water (100~ to 110~), 1/2 c. sugar, 1/2 c. light vegetable oil and 2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Combine yeast and water in a large mixing bowl, stirring until dissolved.
Add the sugar, oil, salt and eggs.
Using a wooden spoon, beat in 3 cups flour to make a smooth batter.
Gradually add enough flour to make a soft, workable dough that pulls away from sides of the bowl.
Turn out onto a large, lightly floured surface and knead 8 to 10 minutes, adding more flour as needed.
