Caramel Sauce(Microwave)
Caramel Sauce(Microwave) is an easy dinner. Made with 1 c. granulated sugar, 1/4 c. water, 1 c. heavy cream and 1 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Place sugar and water in 4-cup microwave-safe glass measure. Cover tightly and microwave on High for 7 to 8 minutes, until syrup turns light gold.
Mixture will be extremely hot.
Let stand for 2 minutes, then remove from microwave and gradually stir in cream and vanilla.
Microwave, uncovered, for 1 to 2 minutes more, until golden brown.
Cool slightly, then pour into clean jar or container.
Cover tightly and refrigerate.
Makes 1 1/2 cups. Good over ice cream or fresh pears.
