Candied Apples

Have apples at room temperature.
Wipe apples with clean, damp cloth.
Insert stick 3/4 deep into apples.
Combine all ingredients, except apples, in saucepan, sides of which have been buttered.
Stir until it comes to a boil.
Let cook without stirring until it reaches a hard crack stage (300Β°).
Remove from fire.
Dip apple in syrup and twist.
Lift apple out and let excess syrup drip off.
Place on buttered aluminum foil or cookie sheet. When cool, wrap with Saran Wrap or Baggies.
