Cabbage Tsukemono
Cabbage Tsukemono is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 5 lb. cabbage, washed and cut into wedges, 1 c. hot water, 1 c. brown sugar, 1/3 c. salt and 1/4 c. vinegar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Hot water, brown sugar, salt and vinegar until it comes to a boil. Cool.
Add the whiskey and pour the mixture over the cabbage.
Put into a container (such as a crock) that a weight can be put on top of the cabbage.
It will be ready to eat in two days.
Remove from the weight and put into jars or plastic container and refrigerate.
