Buttermilk Pound Cake
Buttermilk Pound Cake is an moderately easy dessert you can prepare in just 48 minutes. Made with c. soft butter or margarine, c. sugar, eggs (room temperature), c. buttermilk and c. sifted flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Beat butter until fluffy. Add sugar gradually, beating constantly, then beat some more.
Add eggs, one at a time.
Beat well after each addition. Dissolve soda in water. Add to 1/2 cup buttermilk. Add 1 cup flour alternately with milk/soda mixture. Beat well. Add remaining flour and milk alternately. Blend well. Add vanilla. Grease only bottom of pan. Bake in tube pan at 325Β° for 1 1/2 hours.
(Stick spatula every 1/2-inch vertically into batter to remove air bubbles.)
