Dip chicken in 1 buttermilk, then roll in flour, seasoned with salt and pepper.
Melt butter in 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan and put chicken skin side down.
Bake, uncovered, in 375Β° oven for 30 minutes.
Chicken and bake 15 minutes more. Blend remaining 1 cup buttermilk over chicken. Bake 15 minutes more or until done.
Serve over rice or mashed potatoes.
