Buttermilk Buns
Buttermilk Buns is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. sugar, 1 1/2 tsp. salt, 2 pkg. yeast, 1 egg and 1/4 c. shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Heat buttermilk until it separates and is warm.
Combine sugar and salt with buttermilk in large mixing bowl.
Dissolve yeast in mixture; stir in egg.
Add shortening; add half the flour, stirring well.
Add remaining flour gradually, stirring until dough leaves side of bowl.
Place in greased bowl.
Cover with damp cloth and place in refrigerator for 1 hour.
Punch dough down; shape into rolls.
Place on sheet.
Let rise in warm place.
Bake at 400Β° for 12 to 15 minutes.
