Boston Cream Pie

Grease and flour two 8-inch cake pans.
Mix flour, baking powder and salt.
In bowl with electric mixer, beat on medium speed the margarine and sugar. Add egg and beat 3 minutes, scraping often. Add to flour mixture alternately with milk and vanilla, beating well.
Pour into pans. Bake 25 minutes at 350Β°. Spring test for doneness. Remove to rack. Cool completely.
