Boiled Irish Soda Cake
Boiled Irish Soda Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 sticks butter or margarine, 2 c. water, 1 c. applesauce, 1 pkg. raisins and 3 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Boil water, raisins and applesauce 10 minutes.
Add butter and let stand until cold.
Add to boiled mixture the eggs and mix.
Add all dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.
Stir in molasses.
Bake in greased, floured loaf pans at 350Β° for 1 1/4 hours (test; ovens vary).
(Some take longer.)
