Boiled Custard
Boiled Custard is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 qt. sweet milk, 5 egg yolks, beaten or 3 well beaten large eggs, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1 stick cinnamon (optional) and 5 tbsp. sugar or to taste, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

Heat milk (with cinnamon stick if desired) until bubbles begin to appear around edge of pan.
Stir sugar and salt into eggs.
Add hot milk slowly to egg mixture, stirring constantly.
Return to double boiler and cook over low heat, while stirring, until mixture coats spoon.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Sprinkle with nutmeg, if desired. Chill and serve from pitcher.
