Preheat oven to 250°. Take 1/2 cup of flour and dredge raisins and currants in it; set aside.
Cream butter and sugar thoroughly.

Add flour alternately to batter with beaten eggs.
Stir in brandy and fruit.
Pour into baking pan.
Bake in 250° oven for 2 or more hours.
