Bishop's Wine
Bishop'S Wine is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 t. whole cloves, 3 whole oranges, unpeeled, 3 whole lemons, unpeeled, 1 gal. red wine (claret, burgundy or vino type), divided and 1 1/2 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

About 3 hours before serving, stick cloves in oranges and lemons.
In a large kettle, combine 6 cups of wine, sugar and cinnamon sticks.
Add clove-studded fruit.
Cover; let stand until shortly before serving.
Remove cover and bring just to a boil.
Remove from heat, cover and steep 15 minutes.
Remove fruit and cinnamon sticks, gently squeezing fruit (don't break peel).
Add remaining wine; heat through.
Makes 25 five ounce servings.
