Biscuits
Biscuits is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c. presifted flour, 4 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 3/4 tsp. cream of tartar, 2 1/2 tbsp. sugar and 3/4 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Preheat oven to 450Β°.
Grease baking sheet.
Sift into mixing bowl the flour, baking powder, cream of tartar, sugar and salt with pastry blender.
Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal.
Beat egg lightly and add to milk.
Add liquid to dry ingredients and blend until dough holds together.
Turn dough onto a floured board and knead lightly.
Roll 1-inch thick and cut into biscuits.
Bake 12 minutes.
