Betty's Baked Beans
Betty'S Baked Beans is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 6 slices bacon, 1/2 c. chopped very fine onion, 2 (16 oz.) cans bush pork and beans, 2 tbsp. brown sugar and 1 tbsp. worcestershire sauce (go light), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Cook bacon until crisp; drain, reserving 2 tablespoons drippings in skillet.
Crumble bacon.
Cook onion in reserved drippings until tender (low heat) and stir.
Add with bacon to remaining ingredients; mix well.
Top with additional bacon, if desired.
Bake uncovered in 1 1/2-quart casserole in 325Β° oven for 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 hours.
(I use the slow cooker; double the recipe and it works out great.)
Stir often.
