Beef Stroganoff
Beef Stroganoff is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. round steak, 1/2-inch thick, 2 tbsp. hot shortening, 1/4 c. cut up onion, 1 tsp. salt and 1/4 tsp. pepper, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Cut steak into 3 x 1-inch strips.
Brown strips in shortening in 10-inch skillet.
Add onion, salt and pepper.
Blend in flour, then tomato juice and mushroom stems and pieces, drained.
Cover; cook over low heat 1 hour, until meat is tender.
Stir in mixture of milk and lemon juice.
Heat until steaming, but do not boil. Serve over noodles or rice.
