Batter Bread
Batter Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. corn meal, 2 c. boiling water, 3 to 4 eggs, 1/2 c. milk and 1/2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Boil corn meal and boiling water to a mush.
Separate eggs and beat yolks with milk, salt, sugar, shortening, flour and baking powder.
Add to corn meal mush.
Beat egg whites and fold in last. Bake in 350° to 375° oven.
This makes a very moist and slightly sweet corn bread.
