Barbecued Baked Beans
Barbecued Baked Beans is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 slices bacon, cut crosswise into thin strips, 1 c. finely diced spanish onion, 1 large clove garlic, minced, 1 lb. cooked navy or pea beans or 16 oz. can b & m baked beans and 3/4 c. ketchup, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Preheat the oven to 325°.
In a heavy skillet, saute the bacon strips over medium heat until crisp.
Add the onion and garlic and continue cooking until the onion is transparent, but not browned. Transfer the bacon, onion and any fat that may have accumulated to a mixing bowl.
Add the remaining ingredients and combine well. Pour the mixture into an ungreased 2-quart baking dish and bake, uncovered, at 325° for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
Serves 4.
