Bananas Foster
Bananas Foster is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 6 firm small ripe bananas, peeled and sliced in two lengthwise, 6 large scoops vanilla ice cream, 3/4 c. brown sugar, dash of cinnamon and 3/4 c. banana liqueur, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
In chafing dish, flambé pan or large skillet.
Melt brown sugar and butter; add bananas.
Roll bananas in melted sugar and butter. Sprinkle with cinnamon, then saute until tender.
Add banana liqueur and warm a few seconds and flambé.
Baste bananas until flame is out.
Serve banana slices and sauce over ice cream.
Serve immediately.
Yields 6 servings.
