Banana Pudding is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. sugar, 3 tbsp. plain flour, 4 eggs, 2 c. milk and 1/2 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Mix 1/2 cup sugar with flour in top of double boiler; add 1 whole egg and 3 egg yolks and add milk and blend thoroughly.

Cook uncovered over boiling water until thickened.

Remove from heat; add vanilla.

Layer in baking dish custard, wafers and bananas, ending with custard.

Stand wafers around edge of dish.

Whip remaining 3 egg whites with 1/4 cup sugar until stiff peaks form. Spread over custard, touching wafers all around.

Bake at 425Β° until delicately browned.
