Banana Nut Cake
Banana Nut Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. shortening, 3 c. sugar, 1/2 c. buttermilk, 3 c. flour and 2 tsp. baking soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and cream well.
Combine flour, soda and salt together, then add flour mixture alternately with buttermilk to the shortening and sugar mixture.
Mash banana and add to cake mixture.
Last add cup of chopped pecans and vanilla.
Bake in slow oven until top springs back when pressed. Bake at 325Β° for about 45 minutes. Bake in an angel food pan or a 12-cup Bundt pan.
