Banana Nut Bread
Banana Nut Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/2 c. sugar, 1 c. shortening, 3 eggs, 1 1/2 c. mashed bananas and 3 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Cream sugar and shortening.
Add eggs, one at a time, mashed bananas and vanilla.
Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk and chopped nuts.
Put in 2 (9 x 5-inch) loaf pans and bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until a wooden pick comes out clean when inserted, at 350Β°.
Cool for 10 minutes, then remove from pans.
Slice when cold.
Keeps moist when tightly wrapped. Freezes well.
