Banana Cream Pie
Banana Cream Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2/3 c. sugar, 2 tbsp. cornstarch, 1 tbsp. flour, 1/4 tsp. salt and 2 1/4 c. milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Combine 1/3 cup sugar, cornstarch, flour and salt in small bowl.
Stir in 1/4 cup milk and egg yolks; set aside.
Combine remaining 1/3 cup sugar and 2 cups milk in saucepan.
Bring to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly.
When mixture reaches full boil, remove from heat.
Slowly stir 1 cup milk mixture into egg yolk mixture.
Return all to saucepan.
Bring to boil over moderate heat, stirring constantly.
Boil 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat.
Stir in butter and vanilla.
Let stand until cool.
Slice 2 bananas; arrange in bottom of pie shell.
Add filling.
Garnish with sweetened whipped cream.
