Banana Cake
Banana Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour, 1 1/2 c. sugar, 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. salt and 1 c. mashed ripe bananas, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Grease and lightly flour two 9 x 1 1/2-inch round baking pans. In a mixing bowl, combine the first 5 ingredients.
Add shortening and bananas; beat on low speed of electric mixer until combined.
Add buttermilk or sour milk, eggs and vanilla; beat 2 minutes on medium speed.
Turn batter into prepared pans.
Bake in a 350Β° oven for 30 minutes, or until done.
Cool 10 minutes on wire racks.
Remove from pans; cool thoroughly.
Frost with creamy butter frosting.
