Baking Powder Biscuits
Baking Powder Biscuits is an easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sifted flour, 3 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. salt, 4 tbsp. shortening (crisco) and 3/4 c. milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Sift flour, baking powder and salt together and add shortening, cutting in until size of a pea.
Add milk to make a soft dough. Place on waxed paper or a board, kneading lightly for 15 seconds, using very little flour on board.
Roll out dough 1/2-inch to 3/4-inch thick.
Cut out biscuits with a cookie cutter.
Grease baking sheet or pan and place biscuits on.
Put in a hot oven (450Β°) for 10 to 12 minutes.
Makes 14 (2-inch) biscuits.
