Baking Powder Biscuits
Baking Powder Biscuits is an easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sifted flour, 1 tbsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. salt, 1/2 c. vegetable shortening and 1/2 c. milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Sift together into bowl the dry ingredients.
Cut into dry ingredients with a pastry blender the vegetable shortening until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal.
Make a well in center of mixture and add all at one time the milk.
Stir with fork until dough follows fork.
Gently form dough into a ball and put on a lightly floured surface.
Knead dough by folding opposite side over toward you.
Using fingertips, gently push dough away.
Give it a quarter turn.
Repeat process rhythmically 10 to 15 times, until dough is just smooth.
Always turn dough in same direction, using as little additional flour as possible.
