Baked Custard
Baked Custard is an easy dinner. Made with 3 eggs, slightly beaten, 1/4 c. sugar, 1/4 tsp. salt, 2 c. milk, scalded and 1 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Combine eggs, sugar and salt.
Slowly stir in slightly cooled milk and vanilla.
Place six 5-ounce custard cups in shallow pan on oven rack.
Pour hot water around cups one inch deep.
Pour in custard.
Bake in 325Β° oven 40 to 45 minutes, or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
For one large custard, bake in a one-quart casserole 60 minutes or until done.
Do not cut until it is completely cool.
