Baked Beans
Baked Beans is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. small white navy beans (2 c.), 2 onions, sliced, 2 bay leaves, 1 tsp. salt and 1/4 tsp. pepper, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Day before serving, soak beans in cold water, covered, overnight.
Water should cover beans completely.
Next day, drain beans in colander.
Rinse under cold water.
Turn into 6-quart kettle.
Cover with 5 cups cold water.
Add onion, bay leaves, salt, pepper, ham bone and leftover ham.
Bring to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer 1 hour or until beans are tender.
Add more water as needed.
Remove ham bone and bay leaves.
