Bacon-Cheese Biscuits
Bacon-Cheese Biscuits is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. self-rising flour, 1 tbsp. sugar, 1/3 c. shortening, 1 c. buttermilk and 1/2 tsp. baking soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Combine flour and sugar.
Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal; set aside.
Combine buttermilk and soda, stirring until soda dissolves.
Add mixture to bacon, cheese and flour mixture, stirring until all ingredients are moistened.
Turn out dough onto lightly floured surface and knead slightly 4 to 5 times.
Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut with a biscuit cutter.
Place on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 425Β° for 10 to 12 minutes.
