Aunt Hilda's Brown Sugar Pound Cake
Aunt Hilda'S Brown Sugar Pound Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. light brown sugar, 2 sticks margarine, 5 large eggs, 1/2 tsp. baking powder and 1 c. sweet milk or 2/3 c. sweet and 1/2 c. canned milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Cream the margarine and Crisco well.
Add sugar (mix brown and white sugars together).
Beat real well.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating at least 1 per minute.
Add flour and milk alternately. Stir in flavoring and nuts.
Pour in greased and floured tube pan and place in cold oven.
Turn to 325Β° and bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Do not open oven door until cake has baked at least 1 hour.
