Aunt Alice's Red Velvet Cake
Aunt Alice'S Red Velvet Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. butter or oleo, 1 1/2 c. sugar, 2 eggs, 2 tbsp. cocoa and 2 oz. pure red food coloring (2 small bottles), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.

Cream together butter and sugar.
Add eggs, one at a time; mix.
Dissolve cocoa in food coloring.
Combine buttermilk, salt and vanilla.
Add alternately with cake flour to the creamed mixture.
Last fold in (by hand) the soda that has been dissolved in the vinegar.
Bake at 350Β° for 25 to 30 minutes.
Makes 2 layers, using regular 8-inch pans.
