Apricot Ribbon Bars
Apricot Ribbon Bars is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. margarine, 1/3 c. sugar, 2 c. flour, 3 egg whites and 1/4 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Heat oven to 350Β°.
Beat margarine and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add flour; mix well.
Press onto bottom of ungreased 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
Bake for 20 minutes.
Beat egg whites until foamy.
Gradually add sugar, beating until stiff peaks form. Spread crust with preserves; cover with meringue.
Sprinkle with nuts.
Continue baking 20 to 25 minutes, or until lightly browned. Cut while warm.
Makes approximately 2 dozen.
