Applesauce Cake
Applesauce Cake is an impressive dinner. Made with 2/3 c. butter, 2 c. sugar, 4 egg yolks, 1/2 c. milk and 2 1/2 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Cream butter and sugar until light.
Add egg yolks and applesauce.
Beat until smooth.
Then add milk alternately with flour that has been sifted 4 or 5 times with baking powder and spices.
Add vanilla.
Fold in egg whites.
Makes 3 layers. Grease and flour pans.
Bake at 325Β° about 40 minutes.
(Stew 3 apples over low heat; spread between layers.)
