Apple Slices
Apple Slices is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/2 c. sifted flour, 1 tbsp. sugar, 1 tsp. salt, 1 c. lard and 1 egg, separated, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Sift together flour, sugar and salt.
Cut lard in with pastry blender.
Put egg yolk in measuring cup and add milk to make 2/3 cup; add to lard mixture.
Mix just enough so dough shapes into ball.
Roll out 1/2 of dough to 15 x 11-inch rectangle.
Transfer to baking sheet.
Cover with corn flakes, then apple slices.
Mix sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over apples.
Roll out other half of dough for top crust.
Pinch edges together.
Beat egg white until stiff.
Put on top.
Bake in a 400Β° oven for 40 minutes.
While hot, dribble glaze over top.
