Apple Pie
Apple Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 qt. thin apple slices, 3/4 to 1 c. sugar, 2 tbsp. cornstarch, 1/8 tsp. salt and 1 tsp. cinnamon, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Line 10-inch pie pan with plain pastry.
Peel, core and slice about 1 1/2 pounds of apples.
This should make 1 quart of apple slices.
Mix sugar, cornstarch, salt and cinnamon.
Cover bottom of crust with thin layer of sugar mixture.
Fill crust with apple slices and pour rest of sugar mixture over apples.
Dot with butter.
(If apples are not tart, sprinkle juice of half a lemon over pie before adding top crust.)
Adjust top crust and prick with a fork.
Bake at 400Β° for 50 minutes.
