Apple Pie
Apple Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 6 medium, tart and firm apples, 1 1/2 c. sugar, 3 tbsp. flour, 1 tsp. vanilla and 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Dice apples and mix with sugar.
Add cinnamon, flour, salt and vanilla.
Pour this mixture into unbaked pie shell and dot top of fruit with 2 teaspoons butter, cut into small bits.
Place crust over pie and seal firmly to edge of lower crust, turning edge up slightly to form a ridge.
Prepare top crust by cutting air vents to allow steam to escape.
Brush top crust with milk or cream and sprinkle 1/4 cup of sugar.
Bake at 450° for 10 minutes, then reduce to 350° for 45 minutes.
