Apple Pie
Apple Pie is an easy dinner. Made with 2 1/4 cups flour, 1 teaspoon salt, 2 tablespoons sugar, 11 tablespoons unsalted butter, chilled and cut into 1/4 inch pieces and 7 tablespoons crisco, chilled, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Place flour, salt and sugar in food processor, pulse 3-4 times to combine.
Add butter pieces, tossing to coat with flour. Pulse 5 more times to cut butter into flour.
Repeat with crisco. Turn mixture out into large bowl.
Sprinkle with 5 tablespoons ice cold water.
Use a spatula to fold and press dough together to form a ball, add up to 1 tablespoon more water if necessary. Divide into 2 dough balls and roll out into circles.
Place one circle into glass pie plate.
